Costanza Turrini named 'Learning Hero' by Twinkl

7 editions, 225 free digital design and creation clubs in 11 regions of Italy, for a total of 4500 secondary school students (first and second grade) involved in the Girls Code It Better initiative, with the objective of bringing girls closer to technology.

It is on these results that it has been based Twinkl - educational platform and global publisher with more than 8 million registered users and with the stated mission of supporting educators around the world — to name Costanza Turrini, creator of GCIB, “Learning Hero” (learning hero).

The recognition takes place on the occasion of 'International Day of Education' organized by UNESCO, which this year is celebrated on January 25.

Twinkl chose Learning Heroes among the people who worked hard during 2020 to search and find solutions to the limits imposed by Covid-19 with the objective of make school and learning possible. The commitment of Costanza Turrini and the entire Girls Code it Better team went precisely in this direction, who during the pandemic integrated the teaching of the workshops that the project offers to the students with a remote path, strengthening all the digital tools available for sharing, collaboration and creation.

“The changed school situation caused by the pandemic has led Girls Code it Better to reflect positively on the strategies and methods it offers for teaching activities: the experience of the clubs that have continued their work online has made it possible to verify that the pillars of our training program can hold up effectively even remotely and that the real objectives of the initiative go far beyond the use of technologies even if they feed on them,” explains Costanza Turrini. In conclusion, he adds: “I would like to thank Officina Futuro Fondazione MAW and our partners who have contributed to achieving this goal:
